Curaçao airport is located on the small island of Curaçao, a former part of the Netherlands Antilles. With the strategic location of Curaçao within the Caribbean, between North and South America, Curaçao Airport Holding (CUR) has the vision to develop Curaçao Airport as a hub airport.
Flights between North-East America, Europe and South America via CUR could use an effective hub scenario. CUR has several potentials and benefits for hub development, such as a unique geographical location outside the hurricane belt and the third-longest runway in the Caribbean.
The project’s aim was to analyse the current infrastructure on its suitability for development as a hub airport and to elaborate first ideas to adapt the infrastructure accordingly.
