Project description

A new airline at Cardiff Airport (CWL) intended to start long-haul operations in May 2018. Up until that point, the airport mainly served smaller aircraft up to Code C. To accommodate Code E aircraft, a new layout configuration of the apron was necessary.

Services provided

  • Elaboration of the concept of Code E aircraft positioning incl. optimised planning for surrounding aircraft stands, adjustments of taxi lane CL and GSE-area
  • Simulations of bridge connections / taxiing resp. push-back procedures depending on various possible Code E aircraft types
  • Concept for apron marking (conform to EASA / airport standards)
  • Detailed marking and marking removal plans.
